Symphony of the Hills: Stars, Stripes, and Spirit at Cailloux Theater

A moving afternoon of music, remembrance, and patriotism is planned when Symphony of the Hills presents Stars, Stripes, and Spirit: Remembrance & Resilience on July 4, 2026 at 4 pm at the Cailloux Theater.

This special Independence Day concert honors both the birth of the nation and the anniversary of the July 4, 2025 flood, paying tribute to the resilience of the community, first responders, recovery teams, and all those affected. Under the direction of Gene Dowdy, conductor and artistic director, the performance will feature assistant conductor Patricia Lee and soprano Sarah Davis.

The program includes a variety of patriotic and reflective works, including Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man and Lincoln Portrait, Irving Berlin’s God Bless America, Morton Gould’s American Salute, Joe Stuessy’s A Texas State of Mind, Bach’s Air on the G String, Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, Lee Greenwood’s God Bless the U.S.A., and Sousa’s The Stars & Stripes Forever.

The concert is supported by Kerr 250, Broadway Bank/Chris Cheever, and The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country.

This event is free and open to the public, and no ticket is required.
