Ornaments of Hope Workshop at St. Peter’s Church (Tucker Hall)

Families are invited to take part in the Ornaments of Hope Workshop, a heartwarming holiday event organized by the Guadalupe River Center to celebrate creativity, community, and the spirit of renewal along the Guadalupe River. During this special gathering, children will craft a festive ornament made from Hill Country flood-reclaimed cypress wood—transformed into a meaningful keepsake that symbolizes hope, resilience, and love for the river.
The ornament-making session will be guided by Hunt artist Callie Stelter, who will lead children step-by-step in creating their Christmas keepsake. The workshop also includes a kid-friendly educational segment about cypress trees, highlighting their importance to the river ecosystem and their powerful symbolism. A story circle will feature a guest reader sharing a heartwarming tale about trees, inspiring young participants to see the connection between nature, creativity, and hope. Additional Christmas crafts will add extra fun and festive cheer.
The event will take place on Sunday, December 7, 2025, from 4 pm to 5 pm at St. Peter’s Church in Tucker Hall. The workshop is free, thanks to the support of the Guadalupe River Center, UGRA, and Redemption Mill.
