The Lazy Days Canteen Songwriter Showdown

Original music takes center stage at The Lazy Days Canteen Songwriter Showdown on Saturday, October 10, from 6 to 10:30 pm at Lazy Days Canteen & Starry Nights Amphitheater. Songwriters from across the Hill Country and beyond will compete before a panel of music industry professionals for the opportunity to have their winning song professionally recorded as a single at Orb Recording Studio.

The judging panel will include songwriter and producer Steven McClintock, Justin McClure, the 2026 Texas Regional Radio “DJ of the Year” and “Radio Station of the Year” winner, and veteran producer and engineer Tony Young, who has worked with Ray Charles, Emmylou Harris, and Willie Nelson’s Fourth of July Picnic. Songwriter entry is free, while tickets for attendees are $10. Doors open and the competition begins at 6 pm.
